The Byron at Byron Launches New Spa Menu and Rainforest Meditation Walk

The Byron at Byron Resort and Spa has recently undergone a refresh and to celebrate, the iconic resort will pay tribute to its very own private 45 acre subtropical rainforest with the launch of a new signature spa menu inspired by nature. Additionally, new interpretive rainforest signage and a unique meditation walk through the subtropical rainforest has been developed, taking guests on a natural and spiritual journey.

The spa menu, conceptualised by Spa and Wellness Centre Manager Naomi Quarrell, takes inspiration from the surrounding rainforest and the invigorating essence of the ocean. Treatments encompass native Australian ingredients and healing modalities distinctive to Byron Bay, working with iKOU eco spa range and Pevonia Botanica products.

The award winning Byron at Byron Spa and Wellness Centre strives to create the perfect environment for body conservation, healing and soul regeneration. The six beautiful treatment rooms are crafted from rich timbers, including the Rainforest Room with Vichy Shower. at 2010 Australian Hotels Association Awards

Daylesford's Massage en Masse Smashes World Record for Largest Simultaneous Massage

31st March 2010 - Daylesford, Australia’s spa-capital in Victoria has smashed the world record for the largest ever simultaneous massage.

The new world record was set Tuesday 30 March at Daylesford’s Massage en Masse, with 263 qualified massage therapists and 263 volunteer ‘massagees’ taking part in a history-making event at Lavandula Lavender Farm.

Guinness Book of Records adjudicator Mr Chris Sheedy said the event was an historic moment for Daylesford with abundant enthusiasm from local spa and massage therapists.

“I’ve seen a whole lot of wonderful events around the world, but during the past decade I have never seen such a beautiful record attempt,” Mr Sheedy said.

Tourism Victoria’s Marketing Director Don Richter said setting the new world record confirms that Daylesford is the nation’s leading spa and wellbeing destination.

“Spa and wellness is a growing market and now Daylesford is in the history books its therapeutic credentials will be showcased around the world,” Mr Richter said.

“We were confident Daylesford could break the record as the region boasts the largest concentration of naturally occurring mineral springs in the southern hemisphere and the highest number of therapists per capita.

“We want to share this amazing region with Australia and invite visitors to discover Daylesford’s depth and diversity first-hand.”

“Daylesford’s abundant natural mineral springs, award-winning restaurants and produce, boutique accommodation options and close proximity to Melbourne make it the perfect getaway.”

Daylesford broke the record by 96. The previous record for the largest ever simultaneous massage was 167 people, set in 2009 in Washington D.C, USA.

Australian model and TV presenter Sophie Falkiner hosted the record-breaking event which saw a grand total of 526 participants create a visually stunning display of bodies across the grounds of a picture perfect Lavandula Lavender Farm.

Diamonds are a girl’s best friend onboard P&O Cruises’ latest superliner Pacific Jewel.

Spread over the top two decks of the ship’s bow and occupying 1,300 square metres, ‘Aqua’ is Australasia’s largest spa at sea. It has 11 oceanview treatment rooms, a salon, fitness centre and thermal suite.

The Pacific Jewel Facial, which is exclusive to the ship, uses a combination of essential oils infused with a diamond in each bottle to reportedly energise and brighten the skin and improve cell activity.

CHI, The Spa at Shangri-La opened at the Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney, in February.

The Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney has officially opened Australia's first CHI Spa, unveiling a new place of enchantment and well-being.

Located on level two, CHI is the latest addition to the hotel which has been undergoing refurbishments for the past year.

It features six luxurious private spa suites, some of which have harbour views, and offers guests over 24 treatments based on authentic natural healing methods practiced in Asian cultures.

Treatments include a unique Mountain Tsmapa Rub which is a traditional mountain barley rub which absorbs oils from the skin leaving it exfoliated and fresh.

CHI also features ila-spa products from the UK and Shangri-La's own signature CHI spa products.

Million-dollar Tassie spa opens

The Harmony Hill Wellness and Organic Spa Retreat in southern Tasmania opens this month. The $1.2 million spa and wellness retreat is designed to heal people inside and out, with three, five and 10-day programs, as well as full day programs including hotel pick-up and drop-off.
