Noosa’s Outrigger Little Hastings Street welcomes first guests

Outrigger Little Hastings Street Resort & Spa is Noosa’s first internationally-managed resort to be built in 20 years.

The five-star hilltop resort is located 500 metres from Hastings Street beside Noosa National Park and offers accommodation in 197 elegantly furnished suites, villas and penthouses, each with large private balconies overlooking national park settings or sweeping coastal views to Double Island Point.

The resort also includes Stephanies Ocean Spa, View Little Hastings restaurant and bar plus conference facilities for up to 500 delegates cocktail-style. Built on a former banana plantation, Outrigger Little Hastings Street is one of the region’s greenest large-scale resorts featuring rainwater harvesting systems, sustainable building design and materials, gas and solar powered hot water systems, gas heated pools and energy efficient in-room facilities. More than 36,000 trees were planted as part of the re-vegetation programme to form wildlife corridors to Noosa National Park.

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts continues its expansion momentum in Asia Pacific, announcing an agreement with Rockwood Hotels & Resorts Ltd. to debut the Sheraton brand in the city of lakes, Udaipur in India (voted Best City in the World in the Travel + Leisure USA World's Best 2009 Awards).

The Rockwood Palace Resort and Spa has been re-branded as Sheraton Udaipur Palace Resort & Spa and is managed by Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Another five Sheraton hotels are due to open in India over the next three years in Bengaluru, Visakhapatnam, Chandigarh, Mysore and Amritsar.

Celebrity Cruises “massages” convenience and pampering into new pre-cruise spa, salon and personal fitness appointment booking tool Celebrity Cruises is adding spa, salon and personal fitness appointments to its ever-growing line-up of onboard experiences available for pre-cruise booking.

With the new pre-cruise spa, salon and personal fitness booking option, Celebrity aims to give its guests the peace of mind associated with knowing that their spa, salon, and personal fitness appointment times are secured. Among those who tend to seek specific appointment times are guests who regularly undergo acupuncture or treatments of elective injectables such as Botox, Restylane, Perlane and Dysport. With Celebrity’s newest offering, guests can book these and other appointments in advance of their cruise, no longer having to worry about finding available times after they board the ship.

By mid-November, guests will be able to book spa, salon and personal fitness appointments prior to their cruise on six of the nine Celebrity ships that will offer this option. The rollout will continue through 2011, when Celebrity Cruises will launch its fourth Solstice Class

The Byron at Byron Resort and Spa has recently undergone a refresh and to celebrate, the iconic resort will pay tribute to its very own private 45 acre subtropical rainforest with the launch of a new signature spa menu inspired by nature. Additionally, new interpretive rainforest signage and a unique meditation walk through the subtropical rainforest has been developed, taking guests on a natural and spiritual journey.
